How do I write my first letter?
Create a new letter from Home and write by hand or type. To send it, sign in and enter a registered recipient's email address, username, or pen-pal ID. Review the delivery time and content before sending.
How do I find pen pals?
Use Pen Pals to send a request by username or pen-pal ID. Approved people appear in your address book. Bottle Mail lets you send to another registered person you do not know.
How many letters can I send?
Addressed letters are limited to three per day on the free plan and 30 per day for monthly supporters. Bottle Mail and replies share a limit of ten per day on either plan. Days reset on UTC dates.
Can I use drafts on another device?
Drafts stay in the current browser and do not sync automatically. JSON export is for safekeeping; there is no general import feature. Sent and received letters are stored differently.
What does voice input need?
You need a browser that supports the Web Speech API and permission to use the microphone. Audio may be sent to the browser provider. Read the notice shown before recording.
Are letters public?
Addressed letters go to registered recipients. Bottle Mail can reach someone you do not know, so do not include an address, contact details, or other information you would not want to share. This guide contains no user letters or drafts.
